Porcelain Veneers

You may just have a small number of teeth you are unhappy with or you may want to change your whole smile? Porcelain veneers are a brilliant way to create a smile you will love. You can choose the size, shape and colour of the teeth you wish you change resulting in the perfect smile you always wanted.

While choosing veneers, we will always encourage you to take the shape of your face, your complexion and your smile line into consideration to ensure your end result suits you perfectly.

You may even have a celebrity smile that you love and would like to take some ideas from? We love to get as much input as possible from our clients to make sure nothing is missed when designing their perfect smile.

If you have teeth that are visibly misaligned or discoloured, or both, it could be that porcelain veneers are the way to restore the beauty of your smile. It’s one of the most popular treatments here at Perth’s leading cosmetic dentist, Advanced Dental Artistry.

We tend to think of porcelain as a rather fragile material, but modern technologies produce porcelain of prodigious strength, well able to serve as a supplementary dental material. Porcelain veneers are thin slivers of porcelain that bond to your teeth to correct small defects in their shape and colour. Strong and resistant to staining, they are just about the simplest and least costly corrective procedure.

What’s Involved?

Like all the procedures we offer at Advanced Dental Artistry, we plan porcelain veneers treatments with great care. First we need to make sure that the procedure will give you the results you expect. We want to know a little about you, how you feel about your smile, and what you want for it. Then we must ensure that your teeth and gums are healthy, before taking some impressions, making some study models and making mock up veneers to show you what’s achievable. The treatment itself involves two visits – the first to prepare the bonding faces of the teeth and take impressions, which are sent to the lab for the permanent veneers to be created. The acrylic mock ups are fitted as a temporary measure. The second visit is to bond the permanent veneers to your teeth, using a sequence of materials and processes that result in a bond at least as strong as the tooth itself.

It’s common to have the teeth adjacent to the veneers whitened after the veneers have been bonded, to achieve an overall whitening.
