I don’t want metal braces

Trying to Avoid Metal Braces?

The average time of completion for metal braces is around 18 months and for some people they aren’t an easy option – even though the results can be fantastic. They can be uncomfortable, challenging to clean and difficult to eat with. This is why many patients are hesitant about traditional orthodontics when looking at options to improve their smile.

Overview

How long does treatment normally take?

  • Porcelain Veneers – 4-6 weeks.
  • Orthodontics/Invisalign (referred to a trusted provider) – Individual cases may vary, average time is 12-18 months.

How long does it last?

  • Porcelain Veneers – 10 to 20+ years, when combined with aftercare.
  • Orthodontics/Invisalign – Lifetime retention.

Does it hurt?

  • Regarding Invisalign, there is some discomfort after the initial insertion of your aligner trays, however this only lasts for a day or two.
  • The reality is many dental procedures cause discomfort of differing levels depending on the type and severity of the procedure. Our priority is to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible throughout all procedures. We also offer the option of sedation if you would prefer to sleep during treatment due to nerves or lengthy appointments.

Treatment Options

If you are looking to straighten your smile but want to avoid traditional orthodontics, then Invisalign might be the option for you. Alternatively, if there is only a small area of teeth that are crooked, porcelain veneers can be used to mask the teeth.

Invisalign
The Invisalign process involves a series of clear (almost invisible) aligners which are entirely removable and have a similar completion time to traditional fixed braces. Invisalign uses computer technology to create your custom made aligners, each with a minor adjustment to the last. By wearing the aligner trays, your teeth are exposed to a gradual force which moves them into the ideal position. Please note: Advanced Dental Artistry does not provide this service, but can refer you to a trusted provider if you want this treatment in combination with treatment completed at our clinic.

Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain Veneers are ultra-thin, custom-made porcelain laminates that are bonded directly to the teeth. Veneers will allow us to close spaces, transform the size, shape, colour and position of your teeth. We love getting as much input as possible from our clients when designing their custom smile, so feel free to give us as much information as possible (including pictures)!
