Is All-on-4 what I need?
All-on-4 dental implants are a permanent solution for those with missing, or terminal teeth (teeth that cannot be saved). This could be due to a number of factors, extreme decay and infection, gum disease, smoking, even certain medications over time can lead to teeth loss.
One thing all our patients all do have in common however is the desire to make a big change in their life. All-on-4 patients not only want to smile with confidence for their friends and family, they’re often desperate to eat properly again, are sick of embarrassing dentures or just want to address the pain.
Each patient is unique and so is their dental history. That's why it's vital to book a complimentary consultation with our team of implant dentists to determine if All-on-4 is the right option for you.
How does it work?
Four titanium dental implants are placed into the upper and/or lower jaw bones with a fixed set of teeth (a bridge) attaching to the implants.
All-on-4 dental implants provide the closest degree of functionality to natural teeth and are considered to be the most effective long-term solution for terminal or missing teeth.
Will my teeth look natural?
Our patients are blown away by just how natural their new all-on-4 smile looks and feels.
Shade, shape, size, contouring and gums are digitally designed and crafted to ensure a smile that is nothing like an old school denture!
You will go through a thorough discovery, design and trial smile process to make sure your new teeth are perfectly suited to your face.
How long does All-On-Four last?
With good oral hygiene you can expect your All-on-4 implants to last a lifetime with the bridge to be replaced after 7 years.
What is the process?
- In the lead up to your surgery, we meet to discuss everything from the design of your smile to finance options.
- Day 1: Surgery day is where our patients are safely and comfortably sedated via IV sedation under the specialist care of our anesthetists. We remove the terminal teeth and any infection and place the titanium implants into the jaw.
- Day 2: The following day we insert a 3D printed trial smile to check the cosmetics, speech and bite of your new teeth.
- Day 4: The final bridge/s are inserted revealing your new smile. This is often a very emotional and transformative day for our patients as many of them haven’t smiled in years.
- After care and follow up appointments and ongoing hygiene appointments are also an essential part of the All-on-4 journey.
Do I need to quit smoking?
Smoking and dental implants don’t mix for a number of reasons. Smoking decreases the rate of healing and affects the bone surrounding the implants and can adversely affect the success of your surgery.
We see a number of patients quit smoking for the smile they’ve always wanted.
What level of impact does ALL-on 4 have?
We speak with all of our patients in depth about the impact their treatment has had on their lives. Most people report their new teeth having a huge impact on their personal, family and work life.
Regaining confidence and functionality in your teeth can be a huge step forward. Many of our patients say they simply just feel more like their true selves.
